Microcontroller acts as a bridge linking and connecting scanners and monitors to the DBMS. It is a channel for conveying instructions to be executed. Scanners are used to scan a client to determine the perfect hairstyle that matches her head. The scanned image is taken to the DBMS via the microcontroller for storage before the process of designing hairstyle begins. Database management system (DBMS) stores the data and programs used in running the system. It avails the data and programs for execution when the microcontroller instructs it. It also deletes clients’ data when it is instructed to do so. High resolution cameras are used to capture quality images of the client. These images are used to design the hairstyle based on her complexion, head and body shape. The images are taken from all positions ensuring that all views are captured. The client can zoom in, zoom out and rotate the image to view her hairstyle from all angles. Monitors are used to display the final outlook of a client after completion of the hairstyle design process. They display various options for a client to make a decision. 

Scanning hairstyle for accuracy

 

For the system to come up with the best hairstyle, the client needs to scan her face. The scanned image is taken to the database for storage. Immediately the image has been scanned, the scanner notifies the microcontroller. The microcontroller fetches the image and takes it to the database within the DBMS. At the same time, images captured by those high resolution cameras are transmitted to the database. During scanning process, cameras are turned on to capture images of the client from all angles. These two processes occur simultaneously. After the scanned and captured images have been stored in the database, microcontroller initializes the hairstyle design process. The system scans the database in search of a perfect hairstyle match and blends it with the facial appearance of the client. When the design process is accomplished, the microcontroller fetches the images of new outlook and transfers them to the monitor for display. The monitor has a dashboard for selecting the hairstyle that looks attractive and appealing. The client can tap the screen to select hairstyle of her choice. Upon making a selection, guidelines on how to achieve the desired hairstyle is displayed. The hairdresser is taken through all the practical steps needed to design and develop that hairstyle. All the products needed are also displayed. Every step completed needs a scan to ascertain if the hairdresser is in the right trajectory as suggested in the guidelines. If he or she has not completed the step as outlined, he or she will be directed on the corrective measures to be taken. The system will highlight where there is mismatch on the scanned image. It also calculates the accuracy towards achieving the desired hairstyle. The more the accuracy, the perfect the hairstyle. Skilled hairdressers do their work with accuracy close to a hundred percent. The secret behind this is following all the guidelines to the latter. The database has many hairstyles. These hairstyles were inserted into the system during the development session. The system can be reconfigured time and again by the developers to incorporate new fashion trends.
